Dear Sir/Madam,

It has come to my attention that you are showing sexual objectification towards women in your latest denim campaign; I refer of course to, “SEX SELLS* Unfortunately we sell jeans”.
Having seen the imagery behind this campaign, I would like make clear that the images used are highly provocative and degrading. The fact that an internationally renowned Designer label would stoop so low as to show pornographic images in its window, on the main streets of Glasgow, is beyond me.

And as though that were not enough, you then suspend entwined mannequin legs in sexual positions in another window, and clearly state what these sexual positions are and how to carry them out.  How will parents explain this to their children? Is this really appropriate behaviour for a company who design and sell clothes for children as well as adults?

Your company enraged me, after all you claim to be for today’s youth, for successful living, but does that mean that a successful living should undermine and objectify women to the point of advertisement looking like pornography, where the men gloat over women and red neon signs flash across their breasts making out that these women are nothing more than prostitutes.

Is this the image you really want for your company?  Is this what you want our children group up with?

I hope not.

Yours Sincerely

John Smith

(Please note that I was instracted by consumer direct that it may help if we must notify the company of our concerns, hence the letter)
